Bentonite Clay vs. Diatomaceous Earth

July 26, 2017

Bentonite Clay

Bentonite clay is composed of aged volcanic ash, which are electrically charged when hydrated, and can be used as both an internal and external detoxication. As it become electrically charged, the clay will remove heavy metal toxins, impurities, and chemicals from within the body. But, how?!  Oxygen cells draw out excess hydrogen, allowing replacement of new oxygen cells.

When the clay is put on the body it helps with skin and allergy issues and cleanses the skin. If you are having issues with minerals within the body, the clay can help provide a sufficient amount of minerals that your body needs. Your body requires a specific amount of minerals to function. Bentonite clay provides significant amounts of silica, calcium, iron, magnesium, sodium, and potassium.

When it comes time to use the Bentonite Clay you want to make sure that it does not interact with other metals, since it won’t have the same effect as it would by itself. Also, make sure that when you go to use the clay you haven’t taken any medications or supplements, as it could minimize the effects.

Ways to Use Bentonite Clay

· On the Skin: externally apply a paste made of bentonite clay and water to the skin. Once dry remove the clay with water.

· On the Face: for smooth and healthy skin. Mix the bentonite clay and water together and apply to your face. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes, then wash off.

· Detox Foot Bath: ¼ bentonite clay to a bath. This will soften the skin.

Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous earth is made from the remains of tiny aquatic organisms called diatoms, made from a natural substance called silica. Silica makes up 26% of the Earth’s crust.

Diatomaceous earth can be used to...

  • Detoxify the body

  • Help with bodily aches and pains, like arthritis

  • Brittle bones, which can occur from lack of calcium

  • Encourage hair growth and health

  • Improve the health of gums and teeth

So, how does it work?

Detoxifies the Body: Diatomaceous earth rids the body of toxins that contribute to making the body ill. It can help curb gas within the digestive track. The silica within the body works just like any other detox program by fighting free radical damage in the body. Once the radicals start moving, they can be released through sweat, urine, and feces.

Improves Bone and Joint Health: Diatomaceous earth can help control osteoporosis. Silica encourages the building of collagen within the body and can improve the metabolic process, helping to prevent further bone damage, and increasing overall joint health.

Cleans and Protects Skin, Teeth and Nails: Diatomaceous earth has been put in toothpaste, skin exfoliators, polishes, and skin scrubs. The clay will dry out harmful toxins, leaving behind clean, smooth skin.

Deciding between Bentonite Clay and Diatomaceous Earth depends on what you'd like to use it for. They each have helpful qualities, dependent on what your body needs.
